I've been a full time decoy and bird carver for over 40 years. During my school days I trained to be a commercial artist and did illustration work during those early years. Birds, especially waterfowl, shorebirds and herons have always been a special interest. I have written and illustrated over 30 how-to books for carvers and artists. My specialty is carving traditional decoys. My White Cedar is carefully dried to make the finest hollow-bodied ducks, brant, and geese. All shorebirds are exquisitely painted to represent specific species in seasonal plumages. My herons and egrets are popular full-sized carvings and all have glass eyes of the finest quality. Miniatures are also available in sizes from 1 inch and up. I've also been making fish decoys for several years (see my book!) and all are properly weighted.
